that! This post should give you a better idea of what you’ll experience when you come to Camp Osiris’ weekend
Our retreat starts with getting to know each other through fun games and questions. You’ll get the chance to share a bit (as much as you’re comfortable) about your faith journey and what you’re
hoping to get out of the camp experience.
Our sessions will be a combination of some teaching and lots of discussion. We’ll look at several Bible passages over

the course of the weekend and talk about ways to reclaim their queer power. We’ll spend some time together in worship; singing songs, praying together, and exploring the ways in which Christian rituals can be reclaimed or made meaningful for queer people.
You’ll have some free time to relax, read, and hang out with other campers. If people are so inclined we can play some organized games (capture the flag, anyone?), and we’ll definitely make sure to have a campfire in the evening!
During the weekend we’ll be asking you to think about something in your home community that you would like to see change for the better. Maybe there aren’t a churches that are welcoming to queer people, maybe your town needs a youth support group or your college needs a GSA. Maybe you want to see your church put in gender neutral restrooms. On our final day we’ll spend some time in small groups talking about the things we want to see happen in our communities and brainstorming ways to make those things happen.
The camp experience doesn’t end when you board your flight/bus/train to go home. We stay connected throughout the year through emails and phone calls. We’ll help to connect you (if possible) to people in your town that are working on the same issues you are, we’ll provide resources and support for your project, and we’ll be there if you need some encouragement.
If you have other questions about what to expect, don’t hesitate to send us an email!
